Powder Day at Sunrise Ski Park
President’s Day weekend was great skiing in Arizona. I always though my first time to Sunrise Park would be on my bike. No matter, the two best sounds in the world are clipping into pedals and stepping into bindings.
It was a great day of Skiing. Powder and people everywhere you look. I stayed on the main mountain with the high speed quad. I was leading a group of scouts, so I didn’t want to get too far away from them.
I rented skis from Krissies Ski and Board shop in Pinetop. They are a top notch rental outfitter with awesome customer service. They’ve got their rental processes down. I was with a group of nine scouts and leaders, the shop was busy but they took care of us fast. They looked to me like company steeped in Lean Manufacturing techniques.
When one of the scout’s snowboard bindings broke I had to buy a new strap at the Sunrise rental shop. I didn’t have the board with me (long story) so I bought a couple of different sizes. Back at Krissie’s, they reimbursed me cash for all the straps even the ones we didn’t use, plus they said “keep the change for your time.” Thanks Krissie’s. Your service is awesome.
I recommend Krissie’s Ski and Board Shop to the world.

Thanks for the comment James. Yes, Sunrise was awesome skiing and boarding this year. I am totally bummed that the mountain is closed to biking. Maybe next year…
I just ran across you blog and thought that was a great shot that you got at Sunrise resort. I am hoping this year is another good year of skiing for us in the White Mountains this year. My wife and I hit those slopes a lot – too bad Sunrise isn’t open for mountain biking this summer.
