I Need a Vacation

Since I always post how awesome the riding weather is here in the winter for all my snowed-in riding friends up north…this is what we endure all summer long while you are out on your lunch rides.

That 79 tomorrow morning is my only shot at beating the heat this week. I better go to bed now… 4 am comes all to soon.

No, I don’t ride every day. The best I do is get out twice a week. But I’m good with that.

Skiing would be awesome but October and, some years, even November offer up some great riding. I remember 2 years ago riding Mid-Mountain in Park City in November.

Good luck with the new baby!

@Lenz guy. For me it’s not about discipline it’s all about Luck. This morning I was unlucky…slept thru the 4 am wake up call. I ended up just riding a quick 15 mile urban loop on canals and bike paths.

I hear you on rim country. I might be able to get a ride up there mid August.

@UtRider we were supposed to be up there end of May but plans changed…we’re now pretty much sticking close to home with the baby due in two weeks. August is out, September is INTERBIKE, October is my only hope for visiting. Maybe I can get up there to ski this winter…

I’m having a hard time disciplining myself to waking up at 4 or 5 am for the cool air. I’m accustomed to night riding but tried that a couple of times and got spanked by the heat – 97 degrees at 10:30pm!! It felt like a blow dryer in my face. Time to head to rim country.

117? Wow – I guess it’s not as hot as I thought in SLC! We have yet to crack 100 this summer. Thing is, when it gets too hot in the valley Park City is only a 45 minute drive away.

Aren’t you supposed to be heading our way for vacation sometime this summer?
